Other than that its maintenance is pretty easy, Z grill dripping management system is super handy for lazy persons. Though it doesn’t have an ash management system like camp chef grills, still it has a pretty decent mechanism that can produce very low ash without compromising the heat. I do cleaning of ash with my vacuum you can also do that.

Besides its maintenance Z grill, 7002E could be your portable grill within an affordable price tag, its weight is about 85 lbs and can be disabled and assembled within a few minutes.

The temperature levels of this grill are pretty decent but you can’t do searing. Though the manufacturer has listed 8 – in – 1 but it is not able to sear perfectly as per our experiments.

The latest Z grill ZPG-450A is not only compact and lightweight but also has multiple options to smoke, bake, roast, braise or even it can be your chargrill as well. I found this grill really helpful for a small campaign group.

The hoper and cooking rack size is pretty decent for a small household, I put about 15 lbs of pallets and 2 ribs even I had some space on the top and bottom to smoke some sweet potatoes.

Other than that its PID control is smart enough to take care of the temperature, you don’t need to babysit this smoker. You just need to set the temperature between 160 -450 F.

The Z grill also built this unite from high-grade heavy-duty steel to provide the desired longevity.

Why it stands out to us:

Versatile cooking options: Since it offers 8 in 1 cooking option I can cook multiple recipes.

Near to perfect temperatures: As per our experiments it takes about 20 minutes to reach about 400 F but after that, it took almost another 20 minutes to acquire 450 F which is not that bad. Also when we compare the reading with the PID sensor and Meat prob the difference was not huge.

Durable: Since the newer 2021 model is built from high-grade steel you will surely get the desired longevity.

Decent smoke without wasting palettes: the amount of smoke is moe hen enough to get a super smoky taste. Other than that a single bag of palettes can last for about 12 – 15 hours, you don’t need to refill rapidly.

  • Rapid temperature rise.

  • Sense-Mate sensor to prevent burnings.
  • Venturl style firebox.
  • Heavy-duty body 14 gauge body and 13 gauge lid.
  • Weight: 70 Pounds
  • Dimensions: 29.92 x 14.96 x 21.65 inches

The green mountain is ideal for RV owners, campers, tailgaters, and couples, though it’s is portable, still it provides you 12.5 x 17.5 inches grilling space; you can cook 2 large ribs or dozens of wings simultaneously.

Other than that it has a built Wi-Fi with an easy-to-configure app to monitor the temperature from your tablet or mobile, I like this feature the most because I can control the temperature, get alerts even when I am in the pool.

Though Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett is not able to provide you as rapid and high temperature as others, still it can achieve 350 F within 15 – 18 minutes; please don’t rely on the unit’s PID sensor. Most of the grills have faulty PID sensors. use your meat probs to get accurate readings.

The overall built quality is excellent; it is built from heavy-duty steel, I found this unite heavy and durable as compared to its competitors but I found the loose hinges, some scratches on the top, and less durable foldable legs, later I claimed the warranty and got a brand new unite. Overall I  found this is the best portable electric pellet smoker in the market.

NOTE: Please check out the unit thoroughly once you got, take a deeper look at the sides, hopper, electrical assemblies, sensors, adopter, etc. I found a unit with malfunctioning and loose hinges and legs.

  • Easy to configure and maintain.
  • Can set up temperatures remotely.
  • Flexible power options.
  • Produce decent smoke without wasting pallets.
  • The package includes probes, lids, and trays.

Cons

  • Frequent Wi-Fi disconnection.
  • Headache for one person to fold and carry it.
  • Not for large families.

As per our experiments, the grill is not that reliable in terms of temperature and portability, though it has foldable legs but they are a nightmare for one person to unfold or fold. Also, we found a significant difference in temperature between the probe and PID sensor, Green Mountain should think about that.

Overall it is a good unit for those who want automation like they can manage temperature, get alert through an app with a heavy-duty body. Other than that you can easily prepare food for 3 – 4 persons.

Camp chef woodwind 24 is the best electric pellet smoker currently available in the market, we have tested its temperature consistency, cooking versatility and space, smoke levels, and overall built quality. Surprisingly this unite is beyond our expectations. Though you have to spend a handsome amount but it’s totally worth it.

Things Should Be Considered Before Buying your 1st Best Electric Pellet Smoker

After testing multiple electric pellet smoker’s we have found the following things should be considered before making a purchase.

Cooking Area: If you want to cook for 8 to 10 persons, the cooking area should be at least 700sq. in, however, for a small group of 4-6 persons, 450 sq. in is enough. We suggest you at least go for 450 sq. in or 550 sq. in because it can serve both a large cooking area and portability as well.

Hopper Area: If you are the person who doesn’t want to feed pellets, again and again, you should get the one that can hold at least 17 – 18lbs  of pellets, also it should have decent burning efficiency so that your pellets will last for a longer duration. I prefer the one that only burns 1 lb/hour at the highest temperature.

Ease of Use and Maintain: A unite with easy operation and maintenance will be a lifesaver for you if you are a lazy person. I prefer a unite with wifi and a smart app, Dripping, ash, and cord managements and cord management system.

Temperature Consistency and ranges: As per our tests we have found that most of the smokers don’t have the same reading on the temperature meter and digital display. Make sure to select the one that should provide the closest readings to the temperature meter, it should be necessary for a professional cook.

Other than that it should have decent temperature ranges so that you can sear your steaks as well, we recommend you to at least get the one with 160 – 550F.

Cooking options: Modren smokers have multiple cooking options like grilling, smoking, searing bbq, etc. you should go for the one that can at least allow you 5 – 7 cooking options so that you can enjoy different foods.

Portability: If you are a traveler, you should have a smoker that can be disassembled and assembled easily with a portable design, I personally like to carry the one with foldable legs and lightweight designs like a green mountain.

Price, Warranty, and Customer Support: Price tags vary from unit to unit if you want a unite with decent qualities like flexible cooking options, a large cooking area, multiple probs, decent temperatures, and wifi support you have to spend a few more, however, you can found a decent one under $500.

Other than that Your select unit should have at least 1 year of warranty. Once you received the unite, keep assembling it and check out the sensor, burners, and most importantly temperatures. If you found huge temperature fluctuations, burner leakage, etc, make sure to return it.

Durability: Check out the durability of your desired unite it should be built with decent heavy-duty material with perfect finishing. Make sure to check out the joints and bolt if they are cheap and loose, return them immediately for a replacement. Other than that
