Smoked Chicken Wings Recipe – Traditional Smokey Test

Most people tempt to bake or fry chicken wings and more often, they are not that good. But if you want to amaze your guests with an entirely different and ravishing flavor to your wings then this recipe will prove to be magic for your feast.

Smoked Chicken Wings


  • 6 oz brown sugar
  • 1-gallon water
  • 8 oz of salt
  • 20 jumbo chicken wings
  • Bar-B-Que Rub or rub of choice
  • Wing sauce of choice


Step 1: In a large bowl or pot, combine all the brine ingredients until salt and sugar are dissolved. Add brine and wings for about 12-24 hours.

Step 2: Remove them from brine and dry all the wings thoroughly with a paper towel.

Step 3: Season the wings with 1 tablespoon of rub.

Step 4: Place on 275 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit smoker with space between each wing.

Step 5: Smoke it for about 30 to 40 minutes or to an internal temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 6: Place the wings on a baking sheet and let them cool in the fridge overnight.

Step 7: Place the wings in a 350 degrees Fahrenheit fryer for 3-4 minutes or until 165 degrees Fahrenheit internal temperature.

Step 8: Now, it’s time to toss in your favorite wing sauce.
