  • 14 lbs turkey
  • 1 jar of water for the actual brine
  • ½ cup of dark brown sugar
  • 2 cups of kosher salt
  • 1 quarter old bay seasoning
  • 1 quarter black peppercorns
  • 1 whole garlic
  • 7 oranges
  • 5 lemons
  • 2 large apples


Step 1: Put the water pot on the stove and let it boil.

Step 2: Once the water is completely boiled add the dark brown sugar and into it and mix it until the salt and sugar are dissolved.

Step 3: After dissolving the sugar and salt we will add the oranges and lemons and bulb of garlic to the water.

Step 4: Now after 10 to 15 minutes we will add apples and peppercorns with the herbs.

Step 5: Take the ice in the bucket with some water and then take the brine and pour it down in it.

Step 6: Stir the brine and it will give you the golden nice color and now put the turkey down in it.

Step 7: Make sure that the turkey is fully submerged in the brine.

Step 8: Now, let this sit over a night, and then you’re ready to go.
